Teenager charged in fatal stabbing of neighbor
A teen who was arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing outside a Houston apartment complex has been charged with murder, according to authorities.
The teen, identified as Deionne Harris, 21, was charged Wednesday with murder and aggravated assault in the stabbing death of his neighbor, who is also a teenager, according the Houston Chronicle.
Harris has been held without bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 18, the Chronicle reported.
Police said in a news release Wednesday that they found the body of a 15-year-old boy inside the apartment complex on the 2100 block of West 18th Street in northwest Houston.
The boy was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Harris and the 15-yr-old were identified as witnesses to the crime, and Harris was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, according a news summary from the Harris Police Department.
Harris is a member of the Humble High School basketball team, the Houston Police Department said.
Police have not released the boy’s name, but Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo identified him as Isaiah Johnson, who was 14 years old when the shooting occurred.
Johnson has not been identified by the HPD.
The Associated Press is not naming Johnson because of his age.
